Eating Disorder Treatment at Phoenix
An Eating Disorder is a debilitating illness that can consume a person’s life. Additionally, we know that eating disorders can have grave consequences if left untreated and often cause psychological distress. Here at Phoenix, our trained counselors are equipped to treat the psychological impact of eating disorders, in addition to coordinating care with medical providers.
We believe that the best chances of eating disorder recovery occur when an individual addresses both the illness’s medical and psychological impacts. To aid in the recovery process, your counselor will help a person develop an effective treatment team that works for them. Your counselor will collaborate care with and send updates to your dietician, primary care physician, and/or psychiatrist.
Often your counselor will address the psychological impact of eating disorders by using a variety of therapy techniques. These may include but are not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapies, dialectical behavioral therapies, creative therapy modalities, and narrative therapy.
At Phoenix, we have a variety of counselors trained to treat the following eating disorder concerns:
- Anorexia Nervosa
- Atypical Anorexia
- Bulimia
- Binge Eating Disorder
- Eating Disorder NOS
