I am currently working in an administrative role here at Phoenix Counseling. I have a varied background and education. I have a BA in Creative Arts with a minor in performance art management. I worked in several theaters in New England as a costume, set, lighting and makeup designer.
By chance I discovered a position as an activities director working with adults with mental illness. Since then, I have had many different roles in the Mental Health field over the past 20 years.
In 2012 I decided to pursue my Masters in Community Mental Health Counseling at McDaniel College. I have a strong background in incorporating complementary therapies with tradition therapy. I believe in giving my clients tools to help them learn and grow on their own. I use a variety of therapies such as Aromatherapy, Art therapy, Mindfulness, Movement therapy, and Guided Meditation. Many of these complementary therapies I have been using for over 25 years on my own. I currently teach a seminar at McDaniel College on treating stress and anxiety with aromatherapy.
I am very excited to be working at Phoenix Counseling Services. I agree with their philosophies and hope to be able to learn and grow with this amazing company.
